“I DO NOT GIVE ANY LESSONS AND DO NOT MAKE CHARITY. IF IT IS SOMETHING THAT I GIVE, THAT’S MYSELF”
Born in 1966, I will “celebrate”, in September 2019, 29 years of working in safety railway systems area.
My job is to bring people home ALIVE. This job require strictness – you cannot play here, you must respect the rules and ensure that all your team respect them. So my inner me needed a “contra-weight” to balance this strictness. Drawing / painting has became, in time, a suitable option. I choose the digital space and I developed in that direction in the last 6 years. I do my best to constantly learn and to improve myself by all available means – from persons, Online Courses, Classes, Training, Tutorials (Lynda, Udemy, from books, videos, etc.
I am Romanian and I have worked in several countries (always in rail safety). Now I live in Germany.
I run in present several projects (“Fluid spices and harmonious condiments”,“Feelings, Motions and Emotions”; “Ellipse”; “The other Stuttgart”, “Dirndl”, “Stuttgart breath”) and I am also having some new interesting ideas for the future.
My opinion is that you must bring an ADD-ON as a result of your work. I do not think that the TOOL that you use is relevant. Use a knife, a pencil, a photo camera, a filter, a brush, an axe, quantic mechanics… do whatever you want, but bring an add-on. Start from something that already exist (even if it is in your head or heart only) but give her another dimension, reveal things hidden in it. It’s a MUST. Invent another colour or another letter, put a new light on existing things, sing different an old song…
As I staying in the digital world (at least for the moment), I consider absolutely normal to take full advantage of ALL tools that this world offer us: layers, digital blending, filters (deformation or colour), pixel and vectors, transparency and last, but not least, the fabulous UNDO. I will always use everything that I find useful to give life to the idea that I follow. Because, as I already said, I strongly believe that the tool is NOT relevant.
I do not know if I am an artist – I just like to make beautiful things. And I lead myself on the following rules:
Rule 1: HAVE FUN. I do things because I have fun doing them. In the moment that I will not hawing anymore fun doing something, I will stop doing that thing.
Rule 2: SHARE THE JOY you have.
Rule 3: IGNORE NEGATIVITY. Just ignore it. Life is so short!
Rule 4: LISTEN TO EVERYONE, DO AS YOU WANT.
Rule 5: LOVE YOURSELF. Just do it. It worth it.
Rule 6: DON’T TRY TO PROVE ANYTHING. I think artists are not obliged to prove anything to anybody. You are not in competition with nobody. The only person that you compete with – is you. Be today better than yesterday and tomorrow better than today.
Rule 7: I believe that an artist is not a person that sit and has no idea what what to create next. I think that an artist is rather a person that continuously complains about the permanent lack of time for working on his unlimited projects. A person to whom all things speak and he MUST listen to them, understand them and then give them a face or a name.
Rule 8: BE PROUD OF YOURSELF. Even if it sounds conceited, aim to be “YOU – the First”, rather than “The second Picasso”.
Rule 9: BE GRATEFUL. Be grateful that you are blessed / cursed with the creation need, be grateful for everything that inspires you. Be grateful to people that are supporting you. Be grateful to be alive and show your gratitude by never stopping to work.
Rule 10: LEARN – EXERCISE – PRACTICE. Daily. Do not stop. Do not EVER stop. Creation and exercise must be performed without stopping. When you stop, you’re dead.
