THE DAILY NEWSPAPER
WORLD VIRTUAL MUSEUM | ORY DVIR
I was born in Haifa- Israel. As a child, I was a lot of nature in the wadi and in the stream near my home. In the winter the stream was flowing and I went to investigate it.
As a child, I liked to draw a lot of imagination and pictures, and I have not stopped painting until now.
The first time I knew oil paints was when my mother brought home oil paints and cloths with brushes, cans of oil and turpentine. She began painting on still life’s. Artists would come to see her work. I will not forget the smell of oil.
At the age of 16, I was admitted to Ein Hod College.
I was with friends Ed Sarnoff and Shmuel Bonneh and my dream to be with them even after the boarding school
The naval army .
But after a year and a half
I found myself outside the gates of this wonderful institution.
I continued to paint in my bedroom in my parents’ house.
Style of painting:
During this time I liked to put my music at a high volume and I painted on paper with watercolors in a monumental way. like murals only on paper I do not have most of the paintings.
I also draw street paintings and I saw it for the first time in Amsterdam.
When I came back from this tour, I painted adults outside … but inside I felt a longing for more seriousness.
I went to Shmuel Bonneh who I knew from Ein Hod … and he helped me a lot. I started to paint in his studio in Denmark and I felt great about it like a wild flower that was being watered.
I really enjoyed repeating the thin lines of the masters, especially Leonardo, whose youth I copied with pencil.
The ideal harmony of the work … and felt like a child walking hand in hand with his father so wise … and the street in front of all .. and a little of the original
a few times bigger.
