Chairman of the Jury - 11th GIAF

I am especially happy to see so many artists and award winners travelled here for the opening ceremony!
We are celebrating the 11th year of artistic excellence with artists from diverse cultures from all over the world !
The theme of this year «Blooming Art» celebrates the vitality and transformation found in nature and human creativity, showcasing works that reflect growth, renewal, and the vibrant unfolding of beauty. It’s about capturing moments and ideas like the planted seed that blossoms into something new and inspiring.
Coexistence of humanity is expressed through artists from diverse cultures, and our common ongoing theme and goal is FREEDOM and PEACE for all humanity throughout all our yearly international exhibitions.
In an unsafe and fragmented world filled with wars and violence we as artists play an important role in bridging our cultural diversities ! We and spectators accomplish understanding, tolerance and empathy by connecting in this important cultural exchange that hopefully will contribute to obtaining a peaceful world !
The work in our international jury team started already in December of last year. The judges are talented professional artists, sculptors and art historians that are experts in judging artworks. The jury team is representing Argentina, Bangladesh, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Norway, The Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, UAE and USA. You have shown great dedication and worked hard throughout the year.
Present here is Daniela Rossi from Argentina, Shefali Ranthe from Denmark, Nao Morigo from Japan, Preema Nazia Andaleeb from Bangladesh, Sonja Kalb from Germany, Adi Lasri from Israel, Julia König from Italy, Richard Buxani from the Philippines, Yvonne Präger from Germany representing Switzerland, Alberto Insa from Spain and Hao Penghe from China/USA. Andera Stanic from Croatia, I am so thankful for all that you and all jury members have accomplished to make this festival the big success that we can call it today!
A very special thank you goes to the curators and staff at the Museum, especially Yoon Inseob! You have shown impressive organisational skills, hard work and dedication. Your critical sense have led to a high quality of art selected for the exhibition. It has been a great pleasure and honour to work with you!
Thank you to the directors [Yoo Cheon-eop], and [Kyung Myeong-ja] for taking the initiative, and letting us organise and ultimately celebrate the 11th Geoje International Art Festival !
For the past five years I have proudly been working for the Museum as a judge, and now as Chairman of the jury for the second consecutive year. Thank you for having given me this wonderful opportunity to serve the Museum as Chairman of the Jury!
This is my fourth visit to South Korea! It has been a great experience to visit the Museum with all the magnificent art, to see the beautiful landscape of Korea on our tour, experience the impressive infrastructure of the country, and meet the friendly people. You really are a step ahead of the rest of the world, and I am impressed by your culture, innovations and hard work of the citizens!
Once again congratulations to all from the bottom of my heart for making the 11th Geoje International Art Festival a big success!
Gamsahabnida!
Heidi Fosli
